EV Performance
When it comes to Cadillac EV performance you can expect everything you’ve come to love from a gas-powered vehicle – but at a whole new level. Near-instant acceleration locks you into a whisper-quiet drive while cutting-edge tech lets you even power a home with your car’s battery.
Exhilarating EV Acceleration
Nearly instantaneous torque equals a new spin on acceleration. Like a light bulb, the engine doesn’t need to build up power; it just turns on instantly like when you flip a light switch. This results in mind-blowing EV acceleration. The joyride doesn’t end there; as the EV pack rests in the vehicle’s floor instead of under the hood, its center of gravity is lower – which means superior stability and handling compared to traditional gas-powered vehicles. Hug those turns with confidence.
Silence is Golden
The first thing you will probably notice about an EV is the quiet drive. An electric motor is nearly silent, even at full throttle, helping to create an appreciably calm cabin. Plus, with less components than gas-powered vehicles, there is less vibrating and shaking in an EV, giving you a smooth drive.
All-Electric Future Tech
Harness the electric power of your vehicle in innovative ways with these advanced technology features.
Regenerative Braking
Captures braking energy and transfers it to the battery system
One Pedal Driving
Lets you slow down and stop your vehicle using only the accelerator pedal under most conditions.
Bidirectional charging
Our EV battery can be used to charge electric bikes, camping equipment — even your house.
EV Benefits
One of the biggest benefits of driving an EV is the low cost of owning one. You can benefit from tax and utility incentives that may be available, and Cadillac EVs do not need regular oil changes which means fewer maintenance visits. Plus, with the convenience of home-charging, you are saving time and money you would be spending at the pump as gas stations become a thing of the past.
Incentives
You may qualify for tax and utility incentives with the purchase of an EV. State tax incentives Buying an EV may qualify you for state tax incentives based on where you live. Utility benefits Installing and using a home charger could qualify you for local incentives, including rebates and time-of-day pricing options. Check with your local provider for offers.
Lower Costs
Driving an EV could provide potential savings in yearly fuel costs and time saved overall. Maintenance No oil changes, fewer fluids to replace, reduced brake wear if you use One Pedal Driving* or Regen on Demand,™* and fewer moving parts in an EV engine mean less maintenance and more driving. Time saved When you charge your EV overnight, conveniently at home with an available Level 2 wall charger,* you can wake up to a fully charged vehicle. You can even save on your commute time in select states by using the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane.

Cadillac EV FAQs
Do electric cars use oil?
No. EVs have different drivetrains, fewer moving parts and electrical engines that don’t require lubrication.
How do electric vehicles work?
A large electric battery supplies power to one or more of the electric motors to drive the wheels. Between drives, the owner can plug their EV into a charging station to recharge the battery.
Do electric vehicles have transmissions?
No, but there is often a stepdown gear to convert the higher motor RPMs to an appropriate wheel speed.
Are electric batteries recyclable?
Yes, GM has developed recyclemybattery.com to help recyclers repurpose as much of the batteries as possible.
